Catholic United see off Harold Wood Athletic 3-1 to finish season in fourth.....

With a fourth place already secured, manager Simon Thomas was given freedom to field a number of the cup winning reserve team members in a 3-1 home win against Harold Wood Athletic in the Essex Bhoys final game of the season.

Starters from Eamonn Kearney's cup side included keeper Owen Wells, defenders, Matt Wilson, Adam Sargent, Matt Creevy, midfielders Tobias DeSouza, Sam Millen and forwards Harrison Phillips and Michael Clark. Clark was just two goals short of a remarkable goalscoring season that had seen him score 48 goals in all competitions.

Despite going in at half time a 1-0 down, a superb display in the second half with goals from Lucas Polyblank, a Michael Clark penalty and a poachers goal by Harrison Phillips, secured the final day points.

Clark went close to grabbing the all important half-century goal with a powerful header from a Tom Kearney corner, but for a great save by the Woods keeper, had Phillips smash home from close.
