Saturday will see Catholic United visit Kensington Dragons from the Premier Division of the Middlesex Football League. The first time the clubs have ever met.
The Dragons, currently sitting in 11th place in the league, have played 10 games, won 4, lost 4 and drawn 2. After a slow start to the season, which saw them win one game in their opening five games, losing three and drawing one in their other results, mid-September saw a small turnaround in performances and results. From those six matches, the Dragons won 4, drew 1 and lost 1.
In-form A.Flanore will be a player to watch, having scored 8 in his last 5 games, including a hattrick in his last outing, as the Dragons beat second bottom Jolof Sports FC 9-0 at home.
The Dragons will be looking to improve their home form, with 3 wins from their 5 games at The Linford Christie Stadium. Kensington Dragon's received a bye in the first round so this match will be their first appearance in the competition this season.
The Essex Bhoys sit in 5th place in the Essex Olympian Premier Division, some 16 points behind divisional favourites Rayleigh Town. Despite an unbeaten start to the campaign, which included an away win at Rayleigh Town, a drastic poor run of form over September and October saw United drop down the league. November has so far seen two wins from two, including a penalty shootout win in the first round of the Essex Premier Cup. Last weekend, Canning Town succumbed to one of the Essex Bhoys most complete performances in a 4-0 victory which left keeper Woody Wells with one of his quietest afternoons for the club.
United entered the second round of the trophy following a 2-0 win at home to CSM London.
